What is Private Duty Nursing?
Private Duty Nursing is very specialized care for medically fragile children. A registered nurse and licensed practical nurse provide hourly, continuous care in the homes of our patients with chronic, long term conditions.
What are the benefits of PDN?
PDN provides respite for parents caring for their medically fragile child. The individualized care reduces hospitalizations through in-home nursing care, education, and support. One-on-One support can optimize outcomes by providing effective and immediate care.

- IV Infusions: TPN/IV ABX
- Care for cerebral palsy

Our highly skilled nurses and admission specialists complete on-going training approved by the State of Nevada. Our nurses receive the latest in critical and acute care training, complete shadow visits, and demonstrate competencies before they are matched with a family.
You care manager coordinates care with other members of your medical team to create a comprehensive care plan to best serve the needs of your child. We also coordinate care with your palliative care team. If you have any questions about palliative care, let us know! We can help!
How many hours a week?
Each patient qualifies for hours based on medical necessity; authorized hours usually begin at 28 hours per week and maybe approved for up to a maximum of 112 hours per week, based on the needs of the child. Most patients recieving gastrostomy feeding care along with ventilator and tracheostomy care, can be approved for up to 112 hours of in-home skilled nursing care per week. Our clinical team will evaluate the patient’s needs and work to get as many hours approved as possible.
